Light workout, pleasure ride - 18.19 miles
Route
Warmup ride around our neighborhood, took a few minor hills just to get the hill-climbing muscles warmed up. Also wanted rode over plenty of bumpy surfaces to give my rear tire a chance to blow if it was going to do that, but it was fine. Out Liberty to Zeeb (going South), to Pleasant Lake (going East) back via Ann Arbor-Saline, onto Great Oaks (? behind the shopping centers), back on Scio Church to Seventh to Lutz to Crest.

Interesting Happenings
During my pre-ride bike checkup, I found one tiny piece of glass embedded in my rear tire, so I ended up taking the wheel off of the bike and the tire off of the wheel to check it very carefully for any remaining glass. Found a number of small nicks and holes on the outside of the tire, but none that went through to the inside of the tire.
Impressions of Ride
The warmup had been a good idea (I did that on Wednesday, too). It left me ready for the ride and I didn't feel any strain or weakness. I enjoyed the ride, and didn't push hard at all. I really wanted it to be a warmup for Sunday's longer ride. I was going to be seeing a jazz singer named Andy Bey later that night, and one of his most beautiful songs was going through my head. The scenery was very pretty, and I vowed to spend one of my pleasure rides stopping to take photos of the countryside.
