The Homewood Connection
Not wanting to give up a trip that I was now very much looking forward to, I decided to leave on Saturday morning, and return on Monday. I'd visit Homewood on Monday instead of Friday. A trip to Homewood had taken on a reality that was becoming increasingly meaningful to me. I had been reading the books of John Edgar Wideman for a couple of months. All of his books revolve in some form or another around Homewood, the neighborhood where he was raised.
